Snack Away With This Super Simple
Red Pepper Hummus Recipe:

What You'll Need

  • 2 15oz cans Garbanzo Beans (Chickpeas)
  • 1 cup roasted red peppers
  • 6 Tbsp. lemon or lime juice
  • 3 Tbsp. Tahini
  • 1 Tsp. minced garlic or 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/2 Tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 Tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley (dried or fresh)

How to Make a Smooth, Creamy Red Pepper Hummus Dip

  1. Empty the 2 cans of garbanzo beans into a saucepan and heat on medium until simmering. FYI... most hummus recipes don't require you to cook the beans first, however, I have found that they blend much better when they're heated first and it really helps the overall taste of the finished dip. This step can be omitted if you prefer.

  2. Drain the liquid from the beans and throw them into a blender.

  3. Add the remaining ingredients and process until the mixture is smooth.

  4. Chill before serving to allow the dip to cool and the flavors to set. If you didn't heat your beans, or, if you don't mind your hummus a slight bit warm, you can omit this step and go straight to consuming your roasted red pepper hummus masterpiece.
